Grand Hotel du Palais Royal

This past November we decided to book a spontaneous trip to Paris for New Year's Eve, and decided that we wanted to check out a new hotel. On past trips I've tried out several different AirBnB's and hotels in Le Marais, on the Ile Saint Louis, and in St. Germain, but for this trip we decided we wanted to stay in the elegant 1st Arrondisement. Thanks to the gorgeous views, chic decor, and near perfect reviews we decided to stay at the Grand Hotel du Palais Royal, and couldn't have been more pleased with our choice.

The first thing I always notice at a hotel is the staff, and the staff at the Grand Hotel du Palais Royal could not have been more kind, professional, or accommodating. Everyone went out of their way to congratulate us on our engagement, assist us with pre-ordering museum tickets, and even were able to get us a table at the impossible to book David Toutain {probably the best meal I have ever had}. A few special touches - they put us in a top floor room with a beautiful terrace overlooking the city {which we took full advantage of w, there were macarons by our bedside on the first night of our stay with a handwritten note, and on New Year's Eve we had a beautiful coffee table book dedicated to the Palais Royal that had been gifted to us in our room. Although chilly, we took full advantage of our terrace {which featured an obstructed view of Sacre Couer} with morning croissants, afternoon cheese, and a late night champagne toast and dance party after returning home from our New Year's revelries.

While we typically stay in more residential neighborhoods, we absolutely loved staying in the beautiful Palais Royal neighborhood. The hotel is so convenient for any museum you want to visit as well as a great metro stop that easily connects you to virtually anywhere you would like to visit in the city. There are several adorable cafes within a block of the hotel that I enjoyed sitting at with a glass of wine and a book {one of my favorite things to do in Paris}. Also, you are only a five minute walk from one of my favorite places in the entire city - Galerie Vivienne. All-in-all our experience at the Grand Hotel du Palais was absolutely perfect, and I couldn't recommend it enough!
